I want I want I want. But can you blame me? The sun is finally out (for good?) and I’m ready to take advantage of it. I’ve been so preoccupied by everything house-related, that I haven’t taken a good look at my closet in months. It’s not that I’d head straight to my favorite spots and blow a bunch of cash all at once – I’m far too cheap for that – but everybody deserves a couple summer staples to freshen up the rest for those 75 degree and higher days into nights we all love here in Seattle.
delaying the inevitable.
I took inventory of my swimsuits this weekend. It turns out I have a pile of hand me downs and a couple so faded (top or bottom only) you’d think the two pieces came from different sets. Here’s the thing: shopping for swimsuits is never fun. Unless you are mistaken for Jessica Alba or Heidi Klum in the dressing room. That would be fun. I think this is why my suit drawer looks the way it does. Every couple of years I head to Forever 21 or Target and throw a couple $20 suits on the counter without trying anything on. I figure if it doesn’t pinch fat and it doesn’t look like a diaper, I’m set (and yes, sometimes I mess even that up).
However, this year I’ll undoubtedly spend many weekends on the lake, and I’m headed on a whirlwind wedding tour with stops at pools and beaches up and down the Pacific Coast. So why simply “make due”, right?
And so it begins, my journey for the perfect suit. And yes, it begins in the comfort of my own home, via online shopping. Thoughts?
