I love this weekend already…

I’m so sick of being cold. It’s that time of year when I check the weather report hourly because I am absolutely sure it’s going to increase by ten to twenty degrees sometime before 4pm. I know, I shouldn’t be complaining – it just snowed in New York. But I am, because we are sitting in that end of winter funk that gives you a tiny glimpse of what spring will feel like every few days, but just won’t seem to make the switch.
I want to feel the sun on my skin. I want my skin to brighten up. I want to put the boots away for a few months. And I really, really, really want to take Loki for a walk in a T-shirt.
i hella heart home.
It just feels so good to walk through that front door sometimes. No, my shower isn’t as fancy as the W, and no, I won’t have a king sized bed to myself. But. My doggy jumps up and down when I come home, my honey laughs harder than me when New Girl comes on, I can have coffee as soon as I wake up (and it’s Philz – duh), and I always have the right makeup brushes handy.
It was an energizing week of meetings and conference, but I also think my blood pressure spiked at least three times each day (ahhhh, the “to do” list grows so fast when you’re surrounded by great ideas). I couldn’t be more happy that I have a day to pull the last seven together – think massive Outlook cleanup – and then, the weekend. I get to plan date night tomorrow, so we are going on the Great Wheel. And no, he doesn’t read this blog, so it’ll be a lovely surprise.

What a relaxing Sunday. Very, very late brunch with the ladies, a walk through the Farmer’s Market, reading, and yet another Oscar nominated movie – this time from my couch. I’ve seen some really good ones, but I think my vote is still for Silver Linings Playbook. Loved. Oh, and did I mention that the sun came out this weekend?
I hope you are also enjoying the long weekend! Loki is prepping for a furcut tomorrow and I am looking forward to all kinds of productivity. Taxes, dry cleaning, liquid plumber, airport pickup. Oh yes, Happy Presidents Day.
Things I’d miss: part iii
I’m thinking this is going to be an ongoing series. I never know when it’s coming, but I’m often reminded of the things I’d miss if I moved away from Seattle. Today, it was my own personal 5k – any day of the week. I love this running loop. It’s the perfect answer on those days I don’t feel like mapping a route, or quite frankly running very far at all. I’m a firm believer that a ____ (fill in the blank) workout is better than no workout, and when I run this route, it’s a quick workout, but it’s always beautiful.
